People Who Have Inspired Me: Kim

I'm excited about the opportunity I have this month to write about one of the most inspiring people I've ever met who I've been fortunate enough to consider as one of my closest friends for quite awhile now Kim.  Kim grew up in the same small Wyoming town of Smoot as my mom did.  When I was about 10 years old I traveled the short distance to Smoot to visit my Grandpa and Grandma Schwab on Father's Day.  I'm not exactly sure how it came up in a conversation but I remember my grandma mentioning to my mom and I that "the girls from Smoot are sure doing some amazing things."  At the time that remark from my grandma actually bothered me quite a bit because my extraordinary friends Betsy and Camie obviously had to be the best people in the world.  So I just assumed that I'd never meet someone nearly as incredible as them again.

However, Kim's been a better friend than I could have asked for in my life.  Originally it impressed me that Kim was willing to be extremely kind and generous to me even when she didn't know me very well and remembering that still inspires me to try to be that exceptional of a person.  Kim has done so many nice things for me that no one would ever know about unless I mention it and she also has always had a quiet dignity about her that I continue to respect.  Kim has been a very supportive, true friend to me and her kindness has helped me get through some of the most difficult times in my life.

As her friend it's been very enjoyable for me to still be able to see online some of the impressive things that Kim does with the numerous talents that she's developed. It's been very inspiring for me to see how selfless Kim is and how much she seems to enjoy helping people.  Kim's always been very perceptive about finding specific ways to help me that has made my life so much easier and she also has a unique ability to make everyone that's around her better.  I know that her kindness to me will probably always remain underappreciated, but it definitely hasn't gone unnoticed.

I certainly hope that Kim will have as much success and happiness in her life as she possibly can and especially that she'll be able to continue to live her dream of being a writer, because that could inspire other people to live their dreams or to make a positive difference in the world like Kim does.  I do sincerely appreciate the significant positive impact and influence that her simple acts of kindness have had on my life.  I would hope that we will remain friends forever because Kim continues to be a very extraordinary, and inspiring, person.
