My Grandpa Simpson would order a breakfast meal for dinner sometimes when I was younger and I was eating out with him. At the time I didn't realize that was a possible meal option & remember being completely fascinated when his food was actually brought out as I realized that he wasn't just joking. Before my Dad retired he'd let me choose where I wanted to eat lunch when he had some work to do in Jackson & I'd always want to go to Village Inn for breakfast in the afternoon. On my birthday I still traditionally order a breakfast meal to help make it more of a memorable day.

I enjoy watching "Hoosiers" & "Bourne Ultimatum" quite a bit so I'll list them both...

I've always really enjoyed music in general. Since it's very difficult for me to narrow it down to one song I'll go with the first meaningful song that I remember listening to repeatedly...

Bowling in the Fast Lane?

Yesterday, David & Sheila came to Star Valley to spend the day with me. None of us seemed very excited about going out in the bad weather that morning. However, Sheila was kind enough to bring the next two Harry Potter books and so I read a little while they played some Wii games as we waited for the weather to improve. I'm planning to read the entire series since I'm already enjoying the second book even more than I did the first book.



We made a plan to go to Afton for lunch as soon as the weather cleared. For some unexplainable reason I wasn't really in the mood to eat at Pizza Hut that afternoon but it worked out alright that we ended up eating there again. After our lunch my parents asked Sheila, David, and I if there was anything else fun that we wanted to do, as a family, while we were in Afton. Without even realizing it I automatically began to spontaneously suggest that we could go bowling.

We did decide to bowl two games at the SkyView Lanes. The first game I bowled an amazing score of 83. Between games David & Sheila explained to me that the objective of bowling was to knock over all of the pins, not just some of them, and that tip helped improve my score to 119. Apparently my score was closer to a perfect game than I would have ever guessed so I'm thankful that my family was kind enough to point that out. ;) Obviously I've never known very much about sports so any help is always appreciated.





I enjoyed bowling so much that I decided to learn more about another sport, by watching the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic basketball game, when I arrived home. Overall, I thought that it was a very enjoyable day as it's always fun to spend time with David & Sheila whenever I have an opportunity. Hopefully I'll be able to see them again as soon as it's realistically possible so that I can learn a few more impressive bowling shots from them...

A Quick Update

Today I'm beginning a University of Wyoming summer Psychology class. So I wanted to post another update just in case I have significantly less free time during the next eight weeks.

Sheila mentioned awhile ago that she'd prefer to read the first Harry Potter book with me as an activity she'd supposedly enjoy as much as going to an NBA Playoff game would be for me. I've never been the biggest Harry Potter fan in the world and I began reading it wondering if I would make it through the entire book without frequently asking myself if there was another book that I should be reading instead. So I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed reading the Harry Potter book quite a bit. It made me appreciate all of the times that Sheila has made an effort to do something I really enjoy, such as watching sports with me consistently as we were growing up, just to be able to spend time with me. I also ended up reading the Scarlet Pimpernel which was a pretty good book as well.

I decided to pursue getting tickets to a Utah Jazz playoff game. However, realistically, I couldn't see spending that much money to watch the game in person especially considering that the Jazz still had a few injured players. I wouldn't have been able to hear Teddy sing again if I'd attended Game 3 so I can't complain about that weekend working out the way it needed to anyway. Maybe I'll attempt to go to a playoff game next year.



I talked to my University of Wyoming advisor yesterday who indicated that unofficially I'll have enough college credits to complete my Criminal Justice degree this December and then attend the Spring graduation ceremony next May. My advisor and I agreed that it'd still be a good idea to have an official degree evaluation done, just to make sure that I'm actually on schedule to graduate, and so I'm anxious to hopefully hear back from UW in the next few days. Although being required to complete another internship does seem somewhat tempting considering that I did enjoy my internship more than I expected to.



Other than that I've just been spending time watching sports or movies and am trying to enjoy the warm weather in Star Valley while it lasts...

Happy Birthday Teddy

Last Saturday I had another chance to hear Teddy, one of my very best friends, sing at the Afton Civic Center. I appreciate that Teddy made it a priority to visit with me for awhile as she was taking some breaks from singing and also frequently asked me if I was still having an enjoyable evening as the night progressed. I could honestly listen to Teddy sing for quite awhile and still really enjoy it as she's obviously always been very talented. I probably had too much fun dancing with my stepmom again that night as well.



I've always admired that Teddy makes an effort to treat each one of her friends, including me, as if they were the only friend she'll ever have. She's gone out of her way to be a very kind, generous, complementary, and supportive friend to me ever since I've known her. I've tried to follow her example and be as kind to each one of my friends as she's been willing to be to me. I have so much respect for how effortless she makes it seem to be genuinely kind to her friends. I'm also very grateful that Teddy's always been more than willing to help me to somehow figure out how to sing a different tune whenever I've struggled, or my life's hit a sour note, at various times in my life...





Teddy's unwavering friendship continues to be a very valuable asset to me. I'm certainly thankful for all of the memorable moments I've had, with my friends or family, every time I've been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to hear Teddy sing. I'll always be grateful that her friendship helped me, directly or indirectly, to accomplish some of the seemingly unrealistic goals that I had growing up as well. I hope Teddy has a very enjoyable birthday today and that she continues to have all of the success and happiness that she deserves in the upcoming years...
