Ask Away Sunday: Week 16

Where were you when you heard about the Boston Marathon bombs?
I watched it on SportsCenter at home.

How did you feel when you learned of the Boston Marathon bombing? 
A few of my best friends enjoy running in some races. So I was grateful that they weren't running in the Boston Marathon.

Do you have any fears of terrorist attacking the USA? 
I don't, because I live in such a small town that it doesn't seem realistic that there would be a terrorist attack here.

Think about the medical care you've received over the years by nurses and doctors. Now put yourself in the place of the medical staff. Would you be able to offer the same compassion to the 19 year old terrorist if he came into your hospital? 
I might be able to do it if they didn't harm someone I knew well, but it could still be difficult.

Is seeing Peyton Manning play live in Denver, from the nose bleed section, worth $173?
Peyton Manning's my favorite NFL Quarterback, but I'd still say that's too expensive for a nosebleed ticket.

What is your favorite hymn and why?
The First Noel, because it reminds me of the true meaning of Christmas and so it's my favorite Christmas song.

On your perfect day, what is the weather?
In the mid-60s with a slight breeze would be ideal weather to me.


 In the scriptures God says what desireth thou? What would your answer be?
I just wish that I didn't allow not my disability to make me feel as self-conscious and inadequate as it does at times.

A memory from elementary school, good or bad, something you'll always remember. 
I have several good memories of having fun with Betsy and Camie in elementary school.

If you could live anywhere, where would you live? 
I don't think that I'll ever have the option to live where I'd like to live so I need to work on somehow being content with living out here in the middle of nowhere.

Favorite General Conference talk and why? 
Mainly I just appreciated the reminder that some actions should always be considered as inappropriate even if our leaders in government try to change laws to make those things seem appropriate.

Who are 3 men in your life that have the greatest influence on you and why?
To be honest my role models have always been women. When I was younger the people that I looked up to were my mom, my sister, my close female friends and a few of my older female cousins.

A wig

Is anything exciting planned for this week? 
I'd like to go to the Museum of Idaho in Idaho Falls for my birthday.

Pepsi or coke? 
Neither

Hot chocolate or apple cider? 
Apple cider 

Would you prefer to sleep with a window open or a fan on?
For some reason I'm oversensitive to noise at night, but I'd take my chances with the fan on. 

If you were going to mount a big game animal on your wall, what animal would you prefer?
A cheetah

What is your favorite kind of muffin?
Poppyseed muffins are my favorite and I also like blueberry muffins.

Which is more useful....a flat head screwdriver or phillips?
A flat head screwdriver always seems easier for me to use. So it seems like the most useful to me, but that may not be accurate. 

What are your three birthday wishes?
I'd like to maintain a more positive attitude, stay reasonably healthy so I can have an enjoyable life, and not be as concerned about what I don't have yet in life or things that are out of my control.

What is your favorite flavored gum?
I probably like mint flavored gum the most.

Do you own a gun?
No, my Dad lets me use his guns though.

What is your favorite hat you own?
My white Utah Jazz hat and also my Denver Broncos hat are my favorite hats due to the thoughtfulness of the people who gave those hats to me.

What was the best game in this year's Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament?
I watched so much basketball last month that it's starting to blend together, but there were some close games though.  

Who will win the Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament Championship?
I predicted Louisiville would win the championship and I'm still going to stay with that prediction.
