Ask Away Sunday: Week 20

What is more frustrating than waiting for a plumber to come and do a little work that costs a lot? 

Trying to figure out what women are thinking can be more challenging than that for me sometimes.
 

What book are you reading right now for book club?

Why when a dentist numbs your mouth does he jiggle your lip? 

Probably so the dentist will know if your mouth is numb enough that when he drills into the wrong tooth you won't be able to tell the difference and sue him for awhile.  

What's your favorite thing about Pinterest?
I like that it gives me an opportunity to spend more time getting to know more about my cousin Bethany and some of my friends.  I hope that she'll start a blog one of these years like her cool sisters. 

What book are you reading right now for book club and why is it your favorite book club book?

For some of the same reasons that To Kill a Mockingbird is my all-time favorite book. I think it has a good message to not be prejudiced and the movie made me gain a different perspective about life that made me a better person.  I've also always liked history and so I enjoyed learning more about that time period from watching the movie. It'll be interesting to see how the book compares to the movie.   

It'll also be good that I know quite a bit about it so I can be more involved in the book club discussion than I've been with the books that were more out of my comfort zone to discuss.

 

 Which section was the hardest on the ACT?

I actually don't remember ever taking the ACT, but my English classes were challenging for me. I usually had a difficult time with story problems in Math as well.

  When you lend a friend a shirt and they return it... Do you put it away assuming that it's clean or wash it anyway?              

I'd wash it anyway

What would be the worst job interview question? 
 Hypothetical questions can be a challenge for me to answer such as  "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?"

What is the best summer fruit? 
Cantaloupe. I also like strawberries and raspberries.

You are stopping at a gas station before a long ride in the car, what are you going to buy?
I'd usually get a Nestles Crunch or Oreos ice cream bar when I was a kid.

What's your dream job?
My dream job would have been to be an NBA player.

 What would you be doing, what responsibilities would you have? 
I would have been playing basketball.

Who do you think will win American Idol? Who is your favorite?
My favorite was Angie Miller, who was the 3rd Place contestant, but I also liked Kree Harrison who made the Finals and took 2nd Place. 

What is your favorite scripture and why? 
1st Nephi 3:7 is my favorite scripture. During some difficult times it was reassuring to read that the Lord would prepare a way for me to accomplish what I need to in my life.  I'm very grateful for the opportunities that God has allowed me to have in my life.  

Share a time when you did something truly amazing. When you look back at that moment you think to yourself...that sure was cool I don't think I could ever do it again.

I've always put a lot of pressure on myself to do things at a high level. So I don't think that I've done anything amazing, but if people are impressed with something that I've done then that's fine.

1. Do you like balloons?
I do like balloons.

2. Favorite current TV show airing between 7-9PM Mountain Standard Time?
 American Idol, but I also like the Simpsons and the Voice.

3. Finish the phase I know God loves me because... 
I've been trying to remember that God loves me, but it doesn't seem like I'm progressing as much as I should be as a person. However, I've always had better friends than I could have ever asked for and I've felt very blessed to have them in my life. 

4. What is your favorite sports movie?
Hoosiers.  

5. Would you want to travel the world on a boat in the sea?
No, I think I'd get tired of being on a boat after awhile.

What kind of animals have you seen in your yard? 
I saw two hawks a few days ago. I usually see some deer passing through the fields by my home in the summer as well.

What are you growing in your garden/greenhouse? 
One of my aunts gave me a greenhouse and some flower seeds for my birthday.

What are your predictions for the NBA Playoffs or do you even care since it doesn't involve the Jazz?
 I always care since basketball is my favorite sport. My prediction is that the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat will play in the NBA Finals.

What was the coolest thing at the Idaho State Museum? 
 

Have you ever been to the Wyoming State Museum in Cheyenne? 
No, I haven't.

Why is the bison on the Wyoming state flag?
A bison is the Wyoming state animal.
